For the past ten years, I have worked extensively in high-end Residential Renovation, Interior Design, and Lighting Design in both New York and Paris. I founded my company, Avram Rusu, in 2004 to explore ideas in lighting design. Three years ago, I officially launched Avram Rusu Interiors devoted solely to Architecture and Interiors. I love the process of reorganizing a space, designing custom built-in pieces, selecting finishes, fixtures, lighting, furniture, fabrics, art and accessories. Being involved in so many aspects of a design project is an incredible pleasure.
In addition to architectural and interior design, the studio produces a collection of highly crafted lighting fixtures. Launched at ICFF in 2006, the FLOAT Modular Lighting collection arose from the lighting needs of my own space. Light transforms space, and is the single greatest determinant of how a space feels. I enjoy bringing this expertise to my interior design projects. The collection has been published by Interior Design, Residential Lighting, Home Lighting and Accessories and Home Furnishings Now.
I currently work from my Brooklyn waterfront studio.
